2. Know your measurements

Levi's uses a two-part sizing system: W (Waist) and L (Length), both in inches. A tag reading "W30 L32" indicates a 30-inch waist and a 32-inch inseam. Because vintage jeans have often been altered over the decades, the W/L tag doesn't always tell the whole story—measure your best-fitting pair flat: for the waist, measure across the top waistband and double it; for the length, measure the inseam from crotch seam to ankle hem.
